Your Past

  • Your past choices and experiences can help you choose your future goals
  • What experiences did you truly enjoy?
  • Activities that have raised your quality of life can give you ideas for future goals
  • The better you know yourself, the more likely you are to choose goals that suit you well

Your Present

  • The House of Living Well exists to help you think about your goals based on how you live now
  • It can help determine what parts of your life are most important to you
  • Then you can focus on choosing a quality of life goal that will benefit those parts of your life

Making a Goal Statement

  • Developing a goal statement is like aiming at a target
  • You use your imagination and write down how you would like things to be in the future

There are three steps in this process:

  1. Use your imagination to describe something you want to happen in the future
  2. Set a deadline for reaching the goal
  3. Keep track of how important the goal seems and how confident you are that you can reach the goal
