Maintenance
“Life is not merely being alive, but being well.”
– Martial, Poet

Introduction
In this workshop, you set goals to help yourself change and grow.
- Change is unavoidable when striving to live well
- Change can lead to growth or decline
- If you notice your healthy behaviors are declining, pay more attention to them
- Your new behaviors will become habits with time and consistency by staying on track, and you will have a healthy lifestyle
- Setting new goals helps you continue to grow after you meet previously set goals

Arranging Your Environment
One way to successfully maintain healthy behaviors is to arrange your physical and social environments to support them.
- First, remove whatever triggers you to act in unhealthy ways
- Then, increase the cues that support healthy behaviors

Self-Monitoring
Another important skill for creating new habits is staying aware of your environment and tracking your progress.
- Paying attention to yourself and your daily routine can help you see when healthy changes begin to slide back toward old habits
- It is normal to ignore sliding backwards toward old habits
- Being willing to continue paying attention to your behavior is important for creating new habits
- Monitor yourself both when you are successful and when you are not

Rewarding Yourself
- We are more likely to make changes into habits when they are rewarding
- New changes can be hard and are not always rewarding
- You can reward yourself to help make changes into habits
